Background

Kirsty Guest SL-Credit Vannessa Fry

I first started skiing at the age of 4 at Cairngorm Mountain in the Scottish Highlands and as soon as I could ski by myself (and in order not to be outdone by my twin brother) I signed up with the Scottish Ski Club. I continued to ski with SSC every weekend and when I was 12 I was awarded a Rannoch Bursary which allowed me to go to and train with the British Ski Academy in France. As I progressed through the British Alpine System I split my time between school and skiing with the Scottish Ski Club and the British Ski Academy and as I moved into FIS Motion Ski Team. I have just completed my first full time season skiing and although it was extremely disappointing, results and race wise, I did improve my skills tenfold and learned so much that it has me extremely excited and determined for next year to be a success.

Discplines
Slalom and Giant Slalom mainly and I am looking forward to trying out some speed disciplines this coming season.
