I started race training when I was around 7 on Cairngorm Mountain and then when I was 11 started racing more often and training with BSA during the winter. I have been full time since 2012. I train both slalom and Giant slalom but due to an injury in 2014 when I broke my back, I have had a lot of complications with GS and therefore for the last 2 years have exclusively raced slalom , but am looking to get back into GS this season.

Update – October 2017
This summer has been a massive change for me as I have made the decision to move on from my coach of 6 years – Stefan Moser and join the national team led by Noel Baxter. Although I am sad to have had to make this decision, the change has been very much welcome. I started off the summer with 2 camps in Kitzsteinhorn and Les Deux Alpes shortly followed by a slalom camp in Wittenburg. It is the first year that I haven’t headed to the southern Hemisphere and I have to say, that even though I missed the atmosphere and winter of New Zealand, I really enjoyed having a real summer and getting the sun on my back.

Our main summer training camps took place in Saas Fee and the great early morning conditions led to 2 great camps. We made a lot of changes to skiing and for the first time since my back injuries in 2014, GS is now a major part of my programme. There were a few tumbles and one broken finger, but the new challenges are very much welcome.

Currently, I am in Soelden training with team mate Alex Tilley in the build up to the World Cup Opener here next weekend. The conditions have been fantastic and will look to be in Austria until early November before heading up to Levi for the first World Cup slalom of the season on the 11th November. After that, I will head over to Sweden for the opening Europa Cups of season 2107/18 in Funaesdalen and I look forward to being able to write to you with some positive results at the beginning of December.
