The Kirsteen McGibbon Memorial Fund was established by her parents William & Lorna McGiggon in the memory of their daughter Kirsteen McGibbon. Kirsteen was a member of the British Alpine Ski Team who tragically died as a result of a high speed training accident in Austria prior to the 1996 Winter Olympics.
The award is to provide financial support to a young female amateur who shows promise and potential to become an international skiing competitor. The selection of potential recipients are proposed by the fund’s nominator. The award is made on annual basis in accordance with the criteria of the Skiers Trust charitable objectives and Grant Award process.
